After hearing about all the buzz about Street Eats Market @streeteatsmarket located right across the street from the Scarborough Town Centre we had to check it out for ourselves!
This highly rated food truck The Funky Patacon @thefunkypatacon is well known for their gluten-free, fried, smashed plantain sandwiches called patacones. They offer a wide variety of 7 different types of patacones to try. The sandwich I decided to try is their Moho Beach which is their fish sandwich that also has coconuts, cheese, lettuce, tomato and salsa. I got extra sweet plantains on my sandwich as I have a bit of an obsession over sweet plantains
What we thought of their sandwich? Our Sauce Score: 7/10 😋
Firstly, their customer service was perfect! We were able to order online so by the time we finished waiting in the long line to get in, our order was already ready and waiting on us! So they definitely won some points there.
Next the sandwich itself including the construction and taste of it was okay. I found the fish in the sandwich to be quite salty and if you are looking to eat this sandwich without toppings falling out, this is not the sandwich for you. However if you don’t mind getting your money worth and loads of flavours and toppings, this one is for you! Overall, the sandwich was pretty good.
